Pour ma dernière semaine passé en Vendée j'ai décidé de refaire la déco dans ma chambre (qui va surement devenir une chambre amis étant donné mes longues périodes d'absence).
During my last week in Vendée I decided that I would redecorate my room (which will probably become a guest bedroom as I will be away for a long time).
Tout d'abords quelques photos de la chambre avant les travaux.
Des murs jaunes (la peinture a du être fait il y a environ 10ans) abimés par endroits ou des meubles ont frotté ou cogné, plus 3 grosses fissures.
Des meubles en mélanine (également achetés il y a plus de 10ans) pas très gracieux et remplis de 'bordel' en tout genre.
Here are some pictures of the original bedroom.
Yellow walls (I think we last painted them more than 10 years ago), scratched and dented, plus 3 big cracks.
Melamine furniture (also brought more than 10 years ago); rather ugly and full of useless stuff.
1ere mission: vider la chambre, scotcher et proteger sols, plafonds, fenêtre, porte...
1st task: empty the room and protect the ceiling, floor, window, door...
Ensuite il fallait s'attaquer aux fissures.
En grattant pour élargir les fissures (pour que l'enduit adhère bien), j'ai pu m'en rendre comte de la profondeur (a une moment je me suis même demandé si je n'allait pas me retrouver dans la chambre voisine!)
Next step was filling in the cracks.
When I started scraping to get rid of all the loose plaster and enlarge the cracks (to get the filler to stick correctly), I realized just how big and deep the cracks were (at one moment I wondered if I was going to end up in the bedroom next door!)
Prochain étape: reboucher les fissures avec l'enduit.
Next step: filling up the cracks with filler.
Apres quelques jours de séchage: ponçage!! (pas de masque donc on fait avec les moyens du bord).
Qu'est ce que je n'aime pas poncer, surtout de l'enduit sec. Poussière partout assuré!
After a couple of days it was time to rub the filler down with sandpaper. (I had no mask, so had to make do with a tea towel).
I hate rubbing stuff down, especially filler. Dust everywhere!!

Une première couche couleur 'flanelle' sur un des meubles.

Les meubles avec la deuxième couche de peinture blanc, en cours de ponçage (pour faire ressortir le gris et donner un effet vieilli).
The furniture with a second coat of white paint and after having been sanded in certain areas (to make the grey color show up and give a 'old and used' look).

Je suis vraiment ravie du résultat! La chambre parait tellement plus grande et lumineuse. Dommage que je ne vais pas en profiter.
I'm really pleased with the result. The bedroom looks so much bigger and lighter. It's a shame I won't be staying in it for long.
